Escape the winter doldrums and warm up at the party of the year! On Saturday, February 18, the Cumberland Valley School of Music will present “An Evening in Paris” – a very special elegant dinner dance celebrating the cuisine and wines of France. The event is made possible with generous support from F&M Trust.
The evening will begin at 5:30 pm at the Chambersburg Country Club with a champagne and hors d’oeuvres welcome. This will be followed by an exquisite four course dinner prepared by Chef Pat Young, with French wines included.
Please note that we are opening the doors to the event early again this year at 5:30 pm! This is to allow people more time to enjoy the special champagne and hors d’oeuvres welcome and not be rushed to your seats. Dinner will be served at 6:45 pm.
The menu will include :
Champagne and hors d'oeuvres welcome
Appetizer - Seared Sea Scallops with Melted Leeks and Lemon-Thyme Beurre Blanc
Salad Nicoise - Winter greens, tuna, potato, egg, tomato, olives, vinaigrette
Entrée - Filet Au Poivre and Pan Seared Duck Breast served with demi-glace and sautéed haricots verts
Dessert - Crème Brule with Crisp Tuille and Fresh Fruit Garni
The vegetarian meal option, Vegetable Coq Au Vin, is also available if requested in advance. If you would prefer a vegetarian meal, please contact the CVSM office as soon as possible. (Please note that we must have advance notification of all vegetarian requests, along with name of person requesting the special meal. Special meal requests made on the evening of the event cannot be guaranteed.)
In addition to delicious food, “An Evening in Paris” will also feature a large silent auction, a raffle of a fine piece of jewelry, , and live music for dancing from The Holders. Wine, beer, and soft drinks are complimentary with the meal. A full cash bar will also be available. Cash, checks, and major credit cards (MC, Visa, and Discover) will be accepted throughout the evening. We look forward to celebrating with you on February 18!
The auction will include more than 50 wonderful items, including vacation trips, special dinners, lodging at hotels, golf packages, music performances by professional musicians, paintings, gift baskets, gift certificates for dinners at area restaurants, and many other fine items. The raffle item will be a fine piece of jewelry donated by Ludwigs Jewelers, Inc.
The CVSM Dinner Dance & Auction is made possible with generous support from F&M Trust, and all proceeds from the benefit the Cumberland Valley School of Music, a non-profit member of the National Guild for Community Arts Education with locations in Chambersburg, Waynesboro, Mercersburg, and Hagerstown.
