Saturday, February 23, 2013- An Evening Mediterranean Cruise - CVSM's Elegant Dinner Dance and Auction - A celebration of the cuisine and wines of Europe's most luxurious cities. Chambersburg Country Club, 5:30 PM - The evening features a champagne and hors d'oeuvres welcome, a superb four-course meal, and complimentary wine, beer or soft drinks. Plus live dance music from the Kenny I Band! And.. a large silent auction.  Dinner prepared by Chef Pat Young. Sponsored by F&M Trust.  $90 per person

 

Tuesday, March 26, CVSM Community String Orchestra Concert, 8:00PM - The CVSM Community String Orchestra includes musicians from all walks of life and all ages who enjoy playing challenging orchestral music.  Under the guidance of conductor Herman Hopple, the concert will offer a diverse program. Musicians who play violin, viola, cello, or string bass are invited to register. Participation in the orchestra and admission to the concert is free. 

 

 

Saturday, March 16,  2013– Performathon  2013 – 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM – Hundreds of CVSM students are featured in hours of continuous performances at Thomson Chapel, Wilson College, Chambersburg, PA.  Students will be performing alone as well as in various ensembles and groups.  FREE.

Sunday, April 7, 2013 • 2:00 PM - Bob Eyer and Corey Evan Rotz, Two Powerhouse Performers Together For The First Time, Broadway Blockbusters Concert, Thomson Alumnae Chapel • Wilson College Also featuring Brian Helman (piano), Herm Hopple (bass) and Sam Hepfer (drums) Bob Eyer has great facility and imagination at the keyboard. A first class showman, Bob has played many well-known organs including the Oakland Paramount, San Francisco Fox, Radio City Music Hall and Atlantic City Convention Hall.Corey Evan Rotz has a powerful, yet warm and expressive voice. He is a joy to hear and exciting to watch. Corey has sung at the Kennedy Center, the White House, in Los Angeles, Tokyo and throughout Europe. The combination of these world-class talents—both from Chambersburg—in one program, is a unique opportunity. Admission$12, $15at the door

APRIL 14, 2013 • 3:00 PM -‘Young’er than Springtime Musicale- At the home of Dick and Judy Young, 6893 Fairview Drive East, Fayetteville Dick and Judy recently moved back to Franklin County after living away for a number of years. They welcome you to their new home, a lovely open concept, in the beautiful neighborhood of Penn National. The Music of Candice Mowbray- As you arrive, beautiful piano music played by Valerie Merriman will fill the Spring air. The concert features classical guitarist, Candice Mowbray. Praised for her“beautiful tone”and “sensitive music-making,” Candice is in demand as a soloist and a chamber musician. She has been invited to perform for esteemed festivals and events including the Philadelphia Classical Guitar Society Series, the Bethlehem Guitar Festival and the Ibero-American Guitar Festival. She was profiled in Classical Guitar Magazine’s Letter from New York, Maryland Public Television’s Our Town documentary, and SU Today, and named one of the ‘Top Five People to Watch’ by Hagerstown Magazine. Admission $40 per person. Advance reservations required.

Sunday, April 21, 2013 – 3:00  PM – CVSM  Awards Concert – Thomson Chapel, Wilson College.  This concert will feature some of the best young musical talent in the area, including Merit Award Winners who recently competed in categories of voice, piano, and instrumental music as well as graduating seniors who are going on to pursue careers in the performing arts.  FREE.

 

Sunday, May 19, 2013 • 3:00 PM- String Fling Musicale- At the home of Forbes Borthwick and Judy Fogelsonger, 602 Baltimore Road, Shippensburg Forbes and Judy have a large open ranch with beautiful outdoor spaces. Just where you want to be on a lovely May day! String Quartet…Music & More! Popular Music, Broadway Show Tunes and Light Classical. Deborah Stotelmeyer will lead a string quartet for our String Fling featuring two violin players, a violist and a cellist. Deborah is a CVSM faculty member and teaches violin at our Hagerstown location. She received her B.S. in Music Education from Frostburg State College. She is concertmistress for Mercersburg Community Chorus/Orchestra, the former Principal 2nd violin of the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, and former concertmistress of Millbrook Orchestra and Frederick Community Orchestra. Ballet dancer, Marina Addlesberger will also perform a graceful dance among the blooming gardens. Admission $40 per person

 

Monday, May 27, 2013 – 7:30 PM – Memorial  Day Patriotic Concert featuring the CVSM Community Symphonic Band – under  the direction of Tim Gotwald – Chambersburg Memorial Park Bandshell.  This concert will feature a program of patriotic music and concert music. (Based on a limited time commitment, the band performs twice a year and rehearses several weeks prior to each performance. If you play a wind, brass, or percussion instrument and would like to be a part of our band)  Participation in the band and attendance at the concert are both FREE.

 

Saturday, June 1, 2013 – 4:00 –7:00 PM – CVSM  Neighborhood Chef’s Walk Alexander  Avenue in Chambersburg is an attractive street with some very pretty homes built in the 1950s and 60s, but it is the unique mix of people who lives there that make it special .  There are several performing musicians, local politicians, restaurateurs, several longtime patrons of the arts, and chefs!  The chefs will prepare a Culinary Booth along the street.  Musicale attendees can stroll the street and sample each of their menus.  This promises to be a unique and exciting experience with great food and excellent music.  Admission includes refreshments.  Advance reservations required.  $50 per person before April 30th.  $60 if purchased May 1 or after.

 

CVSM Student Recitals are to be held at Thomson Alumnae Chapel, Wilson College on November 15, December 4, 6, 10, 13 and 17, May 6 and 16..  All recitals start at 7:00 PM.  Admission is FREE.
