HAGERSTOWN. St. Maria Goretti High School and Cumberland Valley School of Music will present a PERFORMING ARTS CONCERT on Friday, May 16, at 7:00 pm at Beaver Creek Country Club, 9535 Mapleville Road, Hagerstown, MD.
The concert will showcase a variety of student performing arts groups including: Choir, directed by Gerald Kowallis; Ballet, choreographed by Lauran Clowser; Jazz and Modern Dancers, choreographed by Beckie Sariano (both dance classes also include student choreography); Jazz Band, led by Morgan Jenkins; and String Ensemble, directed by Dee Cao. There will also be an exhibit of art work from Tom McFarland’s art and photography classes.
Cumberland Valley School of Music has been providing music and dance programs at Goretti this year as part of an innovative new collaboration which includes "for credit" classes (choir/musical theater and dance/choreography) and after school ensembles (String Ensemble and Jazz Band).
All are welcome for this afternoon of music, song and dance. Refreshments will be served after the concert. Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door or can be purchased in advance at Cumberland Valley School of Music, 717-261-1220.
