Lynn Lerew: Euphonium Soloist Lynn Lerew was Band Director here at CASHS for 27 years. In fact, his first concert was given in this auditorium February, 1964. The building was nine years old at the time. One of the reasons he agreed to be soloist today was the fact that the stage on which he began his career will be demolished in just a couple months. He hopes his solo will not be part of the destruction. In addition to the CVSM Concert Band, Lynn performs with the Capitol Dixieland Band and Slide Show (trombone quartet), and the Virginia Grand Military Band in D.C. He has directed the Hagerstown Municipal Band for the past thirty-three years. One of the instruments featured is a rare (1868) double bell euphonium. Lynn was NOT the original owner!
