PIANIST DANIEL LAWSON TO PERFORM RECITAL AT WILSON COLLEGE ON AUGUST 21

 

CHAMBERSBURG.  Pianist Daniel Lawson will be performing a recital on Tuesday, August 21at 7:00 pm in Thomson Alumnae Chapel, Wilson College, 1015 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA.  Admission is free.

Daniel, 19, has completed one year at Houghton College as a piano performance major, spending the second semester in London, England with the Houghton College First-Year Honors Program.  He is an alumni of the Cumberland Valley School of Music, where he was a three time CVSM Merit Award Winner (2003, 2004 and 2005) and studied piano with Jeffrey Noll (1999 – 2006).  This summer, he has worked as accompanist at several CVSM camps, including Voice & Drama Camp, Showstoppers, and Stage Odyssey. 

The program for the concert will include Sonnetto 104 del Petrarca by Franz Liszt, La Cathédrale Engloutie, No. 10 from Préludes I by Claude Debussy, Valse in F-Sharp Minor (Posthumous) by Frederic Chopin, Romance, Op. 118, No. 5 by Johannes Brahms, Polonaise, “The Heroic,” Op. 53, No. 1 by Frederic Chopin, Gnossienne No.1 by Erik Satie, and a duet with pianist Lawra Gudgeon on Sonata for Piano, Four Hands by Francis Poulenc.  (Actual program is subject to change.)
