CVSM AWARDS CONCERT ON SUNDAY, APRIL 22 AT 3:00 PM
CHAMBERSBURG. The Cumberland Valley School of Music will be presenting the CVSM Awards Concert on Sunday, April 22, at 3:00 PM in Thomson Alumnae Chapel, Wilson College, Chambersburg, PA. The recital will feature the winners of CVSM’s merit scholarship competition, which was held on March 31, as well as graduating seniors who are going on to pursue careers in music and the winner of this year’s Benjamin Rhine Scholarship. In the merit scholarship competition, students vied for seven awards in piano, vocal, and instrumental categories. Evaluated by teams of impartial judges on such criteria as technique, tone, interpretation, stage presence, and sight-reading, the first three prizewinners in each category will perform. The Cumberland Valley School of Music is a non-profit certified member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts with nearly 600 students and 53 faculty members at locations in Chambersburg, Waynesboro, and Mercersburg, PA and Hagerstown, MD. Admission to the recital is free. Refreshments will be served following the performance.
